David French -Non Executive Director
David is a semi-retired banker with over 22 years city experience. David has held senior roles in international banking and commodities trading. David’s former employers include Bank of America, Rabobank, UBS, and Bankers Trust.
His roles include manager of international commodity trading; country manager, Cameroun, global head of derivatives documentation, and senior operational risk manager. David has also served as a non-executive director of several companies in the technology sector specialising in broadband; wireless; media streaming and VOIP. David holds an MBA (Finance) from Cass University, London.
David’s strengths are in governance, finance, counsel, administrative oversight, and contributing ideas. David was Senior Operational Risk Manager at Bank of America reporting to Head Office with responsibilities across two divisions (GCIB & GTS operating in 31 countries.) Bank of America member of IIF WGOR that dialogued on form and text of Basel 2 with regulators. Global Head of Documentation for Derivatives and Chair of Global Documentation Committee. David wishes to leave a legacy of social change through effective engagement with government, corporations, social enterprise, and faith groups. He is active in the charity sector in faith group leadership and social care.
David was Vice President Global Head of Structured Documentation at Rabo bank with responsibility for documentation of all complex derivatives products including credit; equity; structured; commodity; fixed income; currency; and hybrids. David is active within VP-SHOM (almost from inception) as required not just as a Board member but spending time in Nigeria on business with the management team as required. This included but not limited to key thought leadership sessions with NTA HQ Abuja and CBN HQ, Abuja on good corporate governance.
